Trade Show Materials

Booth

Role: Visual Designer
Scope: Booth backdrop, banner, table cover, flyers, business cards, tent cards, coasters
Timeline: 4 weeks (with the booth as an early high-priority deliverable)
Tools: Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop

Project Overview

Spexi Geospatial is an aerial mapping platform. I was responsible for designing all visual materials for an upcoming trade show — from large-format booth graphics to printed handouts. With minimal existing design guidelines and a tight deadline, I had to quickly establish a bold, clear visual identity that represented the product and captured attention on a busy trade show floor.

The Challenge

  • Limited branding assets and guidance
  • Very short timeline with overlapping deliverables
  • Multiple formats: fabric, paper, digital slides
  • Needed strong visual consistency and readability at a distance

Visual Direction

Since the product is inherently visual — drone-captured imagery — I used real aerial images as the foundation of the design. To ensure clarity and brand visibility, I paired the photography with:

  • Bold gradients
  • Oversized logo placement
  • Clean layout with strong visual hierarchy

The goal was to stand out from across the floor while still supporting in-depth conversations up close.

Booth & Banner Design

Backdrop:

  • Large-scale aerial imagery to showcase what Spexi does
  • Bold logo for immediate recognition
  • Strategic spacing to maintain clarity from a distance

Banner Stand:

  • Provided more context and product messaging
  • Complemented the booth visuals while telling more of the story

Table Cover:

  • Matched the booth’s visual identity
  • Extended the gradient and logo treatment across all surfaces

Supporting Materials

Business cards

Business Cards:

  • Branded, clean, and tailored for the attending stakeholders

Flyers:

  • Highlighted core product benefits and technical use cases
  • Designed to be quick to skim but informative

Tent Cards:

  • Reinforced the branding on the table
  • Subtle prompts for talking points during demos and conversations

Coasters:

  • Casual but visually strong
  • QR code linking directly to a product demo page

Results & Impact

  • Booth setup drew significant foot traffic
  • Team secured new client deals at the event
  • All materials were reused at future events without changes — a strong sign of both quality and consistency

Reflections

This project pushed me to work quickly and decisively while juggling different formats and materials. It also gave me a chance to apply branding principles across both large-scale and small, tactile touchpoints.

I delivered a full suite of cohesive, on-brand trade show materials — and helped the team make a strong, professional impression that extended well beyond a single event.
